Weights calibration

Calibration of weights

Calibrated measuring devices require calibrated test equipment.

In the case of balances, for example, these are calibrated test weights, also known as ‘standards’.

Depending on the frequency of use, test weights must be recalibrated at regular intervals. This is the only way to ensure that they fulfil the requirements of reliably functioning test equipment monitoring.

Recalibration intervals depend on the frequency of use, the operating conditions and your safety requirements. The standard does not specify a specific recalibration interval. Helpful information on the recalibration interval can be found here.
