In order to perform accurate and reliable weighing, the proper location of your balance(s) is critical. To determine the ideal location, the following requirements should be considered:
General recommendations:
- It is recommended to create a spatial separation from the production/laboratory environment.
- Access control for staff
- Uninterrupted material flow
- Cleaning of auxiliaries before weighing
- Regulated disposal
Environmental conditions:
- Sufficiently large
- Easy to clean
- Air conditioning
- Monitoring of Temperature and humidity
- Reduction of release of dusts (e.g. through extraction)
- Low vibration
- Corner position (as lowest vibration point in the room) without windows
- Free from drafts (not near radiators, windows, doors or equipment with ventilation, directly under air conditioning or ventilation system).
- Not heavily frequented
- Distance from the door and windows (solar radiation)
Equipment of the weighing room:
- Sliding door (vibrations and air movements are minimized)
- Sufficiently bright (light source without heat, i.e. fluorescent tubes or modern LEDs)
- Stable weighing table (no transmission of vibrations, no bending under load)(laboratory table, stone table)
- Positioning of the scale directly above the table legs for minimization of vibrations
- Weighing table antistatic and antimagnetic, horizontally aligned (leveled)
