Redefinition of the unit of measurement kilogram

The original kilogram, which has been recognized as a unit of measurement since 1889, is given a new definition.

The original kilogram, recognized as a unit of measurement by the first General Conference on Weights and Measures (CGPM) in 1889, has been redefined.
The kilogram was the last unit of measurement in the International System of Units (SI) to be defined by a physical object instead of a mathematical constant.
The associated measurement accuracy of mass was hereby based for a long time on a physical object, which was subject to changes over time despite the highest safety measures.

To prevent these changes, a redefinition of the unit of measurement kilogram was necessary. This redefinition into a mathematical constant eliminates the dependence on a physical object and now ensures complete safety, stability and independence of time and place.

This redefinition has no effect on your weight calibration(s). It is not necessary to have your weights recalibrated due to this change.
